Many people
in this world tend to have a partner in order to make their own life better,
but some may choose not to get
in a relationship because of their strong reasons. People accept different
gender for decades, but now there’s an increasing number of people who have
same sex relationship, which is known as LGBT. I think you have known what LGBT
is because it has been so popular in societies, especially when America and
some other countries legalized LGBT. Anyway, what is LGBT? LGBT is the acronym for Lesbian, Gay,
Bisexual, and Transgender. LGBT is still kind of controversial. Let’s continue
reading to know more.
From psychological and physical health point
of view, individuals of LGBT has an increase in psychological and physical
disorders, for instance: likely to be at higher risk for depression and anxiety,
10 times more possible to
experience discrimination and verbal insults. That is commonplace because many
people think LGBT is ‘weird’ so they mock and make them as a joke causing more
pressure and health-related problems. LGBT also leads to serious sexual
disease, such as HIV and other side effects. Not only that, inhabitants may
also do physical abuse to LGBT individuals because they consider LGBT as
biased. Based on the research found, about 18 million
people with serious mental illness, a reasonable estimate suggests that about
720,000 are gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender.
According to the opinions of Christians, LGBT is
totally disoriented because it defies God’s Word. Just like in Genesis 2: 18 –
24 stated that God created Eve from
Adam’s rib as a helper and a companion for Adam, it means since the creation,
God has designed us to have partners. He also stated that “a man shall leave
his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one
flesh.” Bible condemns homosexuality as an immoral sin, it’s such an
abomination and they will not inherit the kingdom of God. For people who are
transgender, logically they do not appreciate God’s creation. For the reasons
above it is clear that LGBT is wrong because it against God’s Word.
Even though
multitude say that LGBT is humiliating and unnatural, some think LGBT is okay.
They say that’s actually humans right to choose whom they will love or marry
with, especially in a country that upholds freedom, it’s not forbidden for them
to join LGBT. Moreover, some say that they want to spend more quality time with
that individual (their partner), and many other. People also state that
individuals of LGBT will not harm other people, they are benign.
In addition,
marriage is not only for procreation, but for love. There’s a statement that
say LGBT makes good parents. Some state that LGBT may adopt an orphan and maybe
the orphan will be raised and nurtured in a better environment, more love and
affection rather than live in the orphanage because as we all know that there
are only few people who are in charge there and have to take care for multiples
or probably hundreds of kids that may cause them neglected.
Without any
doubt, I state that I am in the contra side. I disagree with LGBT because I am
a believer and it definitely opposes God’s Word and formerly, people have their
normal marriage. Although some may say that LGBT make a good parents, in my
opinion, in order to raise well-developed children, the best environment is
still in a heterosexual family because children require the presence of a
mother and a father in order to feel comfortable, safe, and loved. Children
also need role models for both sexes, for example: a girl that brought up by
two men would not have a feminine side, vice versa for boy. It means a father
and a mother is so important.
